Helping Alternative School Work

The product I ordered was exactly what was needed for the coursework (elective) that the students needed to complete their high school course requrements. Our school, as are many others across the state and the nation, is experiencing lack of funding for some needed items. Where I can, I pitch in by ordering what is needed and making do through improvising. I had already ordered the Annotated Teacher Edition of the Student Activity Workbook before ordering the student workbook; so now I have the resource materials that will go along with the textbook which will allow me to assist the students on a daily basis. GREAT RESOURCE to have in your library

I took an Entrepreneurship class in college but refused to purchase the textbook for it (this is the book used for the class). The professor used slides that had the information in this book and I started to realize how valuable this book could be for those who are interested in starting their own business. I finished the class and ended up purchasing the book to have in my own library.

A must read and a must share!

Cycles and Spirituality is a fantastic book for those seeking natural ways to understand and appreciate our God given bodies. I believe this book will be meaningful to women of all ages, whether it affects you personally or after reading it, you share it and touch the lives of others. The author did a wonderful job explaining the step-by-step guides for charting and analyzing your cycles (and I love the free printer friendly charts available for download on her website)! This book gave me further understanding of how stress and diet play a pivotal role in our daily lives and can affect our cycles. I look forward to using this book as a constant reference and reminder of the natural changes our bodies go through. I am also very grateful to have this as a resource for my daughter in the future. Through reading Cycles and Spirituality, I have a better understanding of how truly wonderful God made our bodies!

Perfect God-centered introduction to natural cycles

Having some experience with natural family planning, I can verify that this book is spot on and puts everything in a light that is perfect for young women who want to learn more about their bodies and approach their natural femininity in the manner that God intended. It is so informative yet easy to understand even for those who haven't been exposed to their natural cycles. The author did a great job of writing the material so that it doesn't come across as condescending while still being straightforward and technical enough to perfectly explain the anatomy and physiology and how to chart. The natural remedy information is helpful and fitting as well; the nutrition aspect will be helpful for girls throughout their lives. Best of all, in my mind: God is the center of it all. I love that the author wrote it for her daughters to read when they're old enough and my daughter will benefit from that gift.

I thought it was so good I bought one for each of my daughters. It is great the way Alison ties in the woman's fertility to God's design. How much better off young woman are just using natural design verses contraception. I highly recommend that all young woman read it.

It's like a train wreck, You just can't look away.

The H is a jerk to the end and he never grovels when he finally decides to get with the h. The end is rushed and it does not leave you feeling good. The h just keeps taking the abuse and going back to him. I was hoping this one would make up for the other two, sadly just more of the same.

An awesome cookbook with great science and practical tips for any dedicated home cook. Recipes require cooking from scratch but the extra few minutes will produce grand results. I have discovered most recipes turn out very well except a few of their grilling recipes. Over and above, buy your book here and beware of the scam of ordering through the PBS advertised sight that has a much lower price. If you buy the book there, that vendor will send you additional books at list prices and demand payment.

Having watched America's Test Kitchen, I thought this would be a nice addition to the cookbooks on my shelf. I did not realize (until I received it) what an awesome resource this is! This cookbook is exceptional. Why? Beside the fact that it is jammed packed with recipes, each recipe has a "Why This Recipe Works Summary." So many helpful hints that I was unaware of (and this after cooking for over 30 years). There are helpful hints as to how they revised recipes so that they were healthier, without sacrificing taste. Honestly, I don't think I will have to search the internet again looking for recipes, or what to make for dinner. I love this cookbook - and plan to buy one for each of my children. With the exception of my cookbook that I got from my mother as a teenager, the others will have to find new homes.

This is an excellent cookbook if you like simple, good, everyday food. It explains WHY each recipe is good, which is surprisingly helpful.
It's super-easy to read and follow the directions. The only downside is that it is quite big and super HEAVY, but I guess there's no way getting around that.

Good text... but take the course

This is a good textbook if you're taking a course in engineering statistics. It is very thorough and goes farther into the theory than most people might want. As an engineer I think the theory is valuable because it is easy to improperly apply statistical analysis. Overall I think the book is clearly written and provides many real life examples. To some of the other reviewers comment though, real world means an example about a process, but Montgomery tends to be light on telling you how to do the actual analysis. If you're looking for a how to do Minitab (or any other stat software) this isn't for you. If you want to learn about statistical analysis and DOE and how to do it right, then it's a great text.

-Plenty of examples, though purchase the solutions guide if you've been assigned the homework
-Lots of theory
-Lots of real world examples
-Don't expect to learn an analysis software package

Clear and Thorough Textbook

An excellent text that has greatly reinforced some course material that only provided a very preliminary exposure to design and analysis of experiments. With my initial course work, self-study of this text, and acquisition of a stats package (I'm using JMP) I'm now prepared to advocate the use of design of experiments for a test program in my workplace which I expect will provide a better answer for lower cost and time than our traditional approach of testing one threshold at a time to accept a developmental system. This text book was cited as a valuable resource in a July 2013 internal memo by the U.S. DoD Director of Operational Test and Evaluation which was another reason I chose this book from several alternative texts I'd researched.

Dr. Montgomery's book

I used Dr. Montgomery's book as a reference material for his course under Arizona State University's six sigma black belt program. The book starts with a good review of experimental design concepts and inferential statistics. However, I do find his other book, Statistical Process Control, to be a much better inferential stat reference than this one because it does not 'rush thru' the review. Moving to chapter three is where the genius of the author becomes apparent. His approach was to discuss the theoretical aspects of a particular topic, relate it to back inferential statistics, discuss special cases or related topics (like a journal review paper), present problem/s and then show/discuss the solution using either design expert or JMP and diagrams. I cannot find any other better approach. Some of the previous books that I read are kind of 'cookbooks' which shows the reader how to do stuff using some method or software but did not really explain mathematically why it must be done in a particular way. This book did it elegantly. One reviewer mentioned that it is not a good book for hand calculation, which is true, but who does hand calculation these days? I cannot imagine myself pulling a graphing paper and drawing a response surface graph after working on several pages of calculations.

The mathematics is not really hard ... only basic arithmetic and some basic linear algebra is all you need. Integrals/differentials and PDE's are mentioned in the second chapter to describe some functions but that's about it. However, it is important to understand the concepts early and sequentially as the topics build upon each other. For my case, one chapter takes about six hours total to read. The exercises are reasonable and emphasize the important concepts. It took me about 30 min to answer a reasonably challenging question. I would suggest buying the solutions manual to reduce your heartache or erase any doubts although be aware that not all exercises have a solutions in the manual.

Revenge is a Dish Best Not Served

Food Critic for Windy City Eats, Portia Sands, has gone with her friend Tina to be Submissives for the Charity Auction. great sexy book

Wow! Punishing Portia was such a good book! This book had all the amazing signs of a good book and followed through with it! I loved the true journey that these two went on to find themselves. There is true love to be found in this incredible story. Although, this was a very beginner bdsm story don't let that fool you! It has some lovely rope play, pet play and lots of yummy spankings.I loved how even though Master D was 'angry' he still was a perfect Dom and pushed her to her limits and helped her to fly. He knew just what to do and how to act to help her become the best she could be. This was a great sexy book that I highly recommend.

This story is so diabolically wicked that Darling Adams had me squirming in my seat, devouring pages. I was quickly drawn into Portia's tale, feeling the same clash of indignation and arousal. David Dean is just the right blend of sexy, controlled, domineeringly wicked man. More than once did I find myself waiting with baited breath as Portia warred with the same conflict that was shaking me. To safe word, or not to safe word?

I read it as part of a boxset and have already started reading for a second time. I adored this story from the first page to the last! It was absolutely scrumptious!!

Expected more

I received an ARC of this from Smutpire press for an honest review.

I'm a big fan of Military romances so My expectations are usually high when I get a book like this to read. However this fell short of those expectations. The characters at the beginning started out great, however the more I read the more I wanted to throw the book in the fire or at least tell these people to put their pants on keep their heads on straight and just do their job.

Matt spent at least eighty percent of his time thinking of the woman he's got in his ggroup, wanting her to be under him. Without her on his team I could see that he was obviously a good team leader, but throw a female in the mix, one who's body is rocking and he literally became a randy teenager to the detriment of his team.

Sasha started out strong, wanting to prove herself, again wanting to not be the girly-girl, giving her all to the team even when she was being treated unfairly. however because the man got her lady parts in a hot sweltering mess, she caved, and unfortunately in the middle of the dessert as well. On deployment, when you need a clear head.

The author did a good job in giving descriptions of the area they found themselves in, the speed and grittiness of the war zone, the battles etc, all executed well. However all this showed was why women shouldn't be allowed in or on the front line, especially as for Matt he found himself overly protective, concerned of her in spite of his team. The ending was fine, if a little too pat.

You Will Honestly Fall In Love With The Characters.....

After reading Hostile by Leila Haven I was excited when I got the chance to read Private, and trust me if you have read the first book in this collection then you won't want to miss this one. This book will keep you hooked and sitting on the edge of your seats until the very last word.

Corporal Matt Rafter has just received a promotion and when he gets the assignment of having to look out and look after Private Kincaid, at first before he meets her he thinks that it's a guy but when he is waiting for Private Kincaid to show up the last thing that he was expecting was for 'him' to be a girl. As soon as he meets her he hates that he has been assigned this job because he thinks that women shouldn't be on the front line whilst in battle, he goes ahead and finds Major Arthur Atoll to tell him that he doesn't want Private Kincaid to be on the next deployment with him but he just tells him that it's happening whether he likes it or not so then Matt just heads back to his bed.

Private Sasha Kincaid knows more about how things work in the military more than she lets onto Corporal Matt, when she finds out that he went to see Major Atoll about getting her to stay behind for the deployment she goes and finds him and has a go stating that if he continues to be the way he is towards her then she can get him in trouble for being sexist to her. This completely shocks Matt as to him it shows that she has got the balls to stand up for herself.

Whilst they head out the next day to start their tour over in Afghanistan for the next six months he keeps Sasha with him as he isn't exactly sure that she will be able to handle everything that she is about to see, but he is completely wrong as she manages to keep everything in order. The chemistry between them is undeniable even though they are keeping their thoughts to themselves but it's not long before they end up in a close encounter which could cost both of them their careers. Matt knows that it's forbidden for any member of either gender or group to get involved like that, but he can't seem to help himself but later when one mission goes wrong things start to seem out of place. When Major Atoll has a meeting with Matt, it confirms that there seems to be a spy in their group and he tells Matt that he needs to figure out who is it before they lost them for good.

What will happen when the forbidden romance between Matt and Sasha continues and goes to a whole new level. And what will the effects be when an explosion in a building takes place and leaves Sasha seriously injured. Will they be able to find the spy that's in their group before it's too late.

The only way your going to know is if you read it, and just so you guys know that this will continue in book 3, so you won't want to miss anything.

Found the foreigner writing about the US military. Your word choices give you away. Also, hard to imagine someone who volunteered for our military walking around a battlefield thinking the opposing side was right to be angry with them. That seems more like something a ball-less beta Brit would think.

There's not a whole lot of plot to this. The author basically just wants to cash in on the popularity of military romances. The military serves as a backdrop for two people's constant sexual thoughts. I doubt the author even did a lot of research into US army culture. It lacks authenticity.

I first got exposed to the textbook as an undergraduate student in civil engineering. Served as an excellent in depth textbook for that level. During my masters program it was a good starting point. As a consulting engineer, I can find most of the basic and fundamental answers. The language is lucid and simple. I have read lots of books on wastewater engineering. Agreed that there are more detailed texts available on specific areas of wastewater treatment, but this textbook does a very good job of striking that balance just right of covering material in enough detail for students and the practising engineer. It is usually enough unless you are writing a masters thesis or a doctoral dissertation. This text, together with the companion textbook, Collection and Pumping of Wastewater has served me very well during my college and professional career. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good book on wastewater treatment. I very respectfully disagree with the gentleman from Istanbul above who feels that this book is poor. When taking my PE exam, if I was to be limited to just one textbook on wastewater, I would take this one.

The book gives the modern process engineer enough background to engineer complete waste water treatment plants. Specially the biological part is very good. Only at the physical chemical part, the information is based on installations produced in the US. The European (nicer) designes and developments are not described in the book.

fourth edition overdue!

there is a bit of truth in all the above reviews. It has not entirely been my bible, but more a Readers Digest version; if I need a quick answer, it is the first book I grab. Yes there are a lot of mathematical mistakes or misprints in it,and that includes a good number of the worked examples, which rather defeats the purpose. Yes it is very American orientated, but it also has tables and footnotes throughout, giving useful or immediate conversions to other systems, well, metric that is, not imperial. There are a lot nicer processes about, some definitely European. But that misses the point a bit: the most fundamental problem is that the book is nearly ten years old. Therefore it is not surprising that newer processes are missing. I am desperately looking forward to a fourth edition, and I'll be the first to buy it! In the meantime I'll keep using the third. But what happened to the (Indian) paperback version, which was a lot better priced for a book of this age? Still, there is no substitute!
