Good overview of topic areas

I'm in the process of learning about information security and have been quite overwhelmed with what is available. This book provides a shorter overview of the topic areas so I can see the high level view. It is a great jumping off point to other longer, more technical books on the subject. It appears to be a good overview for the CISSP exam also, although I am a number of years off from qualifying for that exam.

I absolutely LOVE Dummies books for studying

I absolutely LOVE Dummies books for studying. They deliver pertinent information in a light and easily absorbable way. There are undoubtedly more technical study guides that go into greater depth, but that's not what a Dummies book is for. This book covers the essentials from all of the necessary study domains to help prepare you for the CISSP exam. Is it the ONLY book you should use? NO! But it's the one that will almost certainly ensure that the basics of all the concepts covered will be absorbed, learned, and retained. At least that's how it works for me!
