Wade Cook has alot of knowledge and experience!!!!

I was motivated right away and quickly was sold. I have been trading and experimenting with options for about 4 or 5 years and have been making money by my own learning just this year consistently. Reading this book I can tell right away he knew what he was talking about and it wasn't hype. I didn't realize that selling options could be so safe and profitable. I was so influenced by this book, I want to read other things he wrote. I think this guy is a genius and has a lot to offer a lot of people. He has more knowledge on business and investing than most authors I have read and he explains things in a simple way that's easy to understand. I have read a lot of books on investing and that says a lot!!!! I just finished "Wall Street Money Machine" my first Wade Cook book. I want to check out "Don't Set Goals (the Old Way) by Wade Cook. The description sounds very good. It talks about the book making you a goal getter instead of a goal setter and after reading the wall street money machine, I think it might just work. Because I could tell that the money machine wasn't hype I am fairly confident that the don't set goals book will help me get kick started. I like that he gets right to the point and speaks from experience. If that book is anywhere near as good as the wall street money machine, I am going to think this guy is one of the most influential people in the world to help you succeed!!!!! I am obviously very impressed!!!!!!

Good introduction to rolling stocks, options, and calls

This is a very good introduction to rolling stocks, options, and calls. To me that is the main value of the book. The author was very clear in his explanations. Of course, be aware that there is also some selling of his courses and seminars.

I was particularly interested in rolling stocks. If that is your interest, I would recommend Rolling Stocks: Making Money on the Ups and Downs by Gregory Witt.

At first I was a little put off by Wade Cook's recent conviction, but please do not let that influence your decision in buying this book. You can learn to fish from a man, but just because that man is convicted of stealing fish does not diminish what you learned from him about fishing. This is not a book on ethics.

This book can be dangerously misleading to unsavy traders.

I read this book because it was recommended to me by another trader. I have almost 10 years of experience trading and have in the past utilized many of the techniques talked about by Mr. Wade. His strategies are highly risky and not what I would consider to be responsible investing. He really never delves into the downsides to his investing such as getting stuck in unwanted positions with large losses or getting very desirable stocks called from you while leaving the dogs running in your account (which is exactly what happened to my account when I used to trade in the manner he suggests). Some people will get lucky with his techniques, but I never found his methods to consistently win over time. I have found other methods that absolutely blow away his techniques, such as daytrading. A better book for investors who really want to benefit off of investing would be William Engs "Trading Rules", or "How to Make Money in Stocks" by William Oneil, or the Motley Fool Investing books.

Shutter Island

The less you know the better can be truly said about this popular thriller that takes the reader on a harrowing journey through the battlefields of the human mind with an epic storm and setting that is sure to get the reader’s pulse racing will all the possibilities and mysteries within. If it is a question if you should read the novel first or see the silver screen adaptation before previewing the pages, please learn from my slight error (although I still enjoyed and recommend the movie version) and sit back with a copy of Shutter Island and get ready for a maze-like story with multiple points of interest and slides on the points of reality and insanity. Although the modern spiced language may somewhat disappoint some (if you are looking for authentic sounding dialogue), the presented personalities are just "there" with little color or shading and more than one or two “twists” or “clues” to the final answers are revealed too early in the beginning; this is still a unique novel with its own sinister images and secrets that may really get into the reader’s head by the final page.

Twisty ghost story

Lehane is a master at creating palpable tension between the covers of a book, and nowhere is that more evident than in Shutter Island. Two U.S. Marshals arrive on the island, now a hospital for the criminally insane, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Along the way, they begin to get hints of disturbing secrets behind the treatments being performed on the prisoner-patients, and find themselves in danger as their presence becomes a threat to the commanding staff and the place’s continued existence.

Or … do they? Lehane bends and twists reality until the reader is no longer entirely sure who they are themselves, let alone the characters on the page in front of them. The way Lehane manipulates the reader’s sense of what’s true mimics the way those delusional patients seem incapable of understanding or adapting to the world around them. By the final gut-punch chapter, I was no longer sure of anything, except that Dennis Lehane is a hell of a writer.

(But seriously, what the hell happened there at the end??)

This is one of the best books I've ever read in my life. I was sorry when it ended, for more reasons than one--but mainly because I didn't have any more of it to read. Lehane is a master of characterization, setting, plotting, narrative, and everything else it takes to be a great writer. What an experience reading Shutter Island was.

Good basic information for people just learning MPLus

I found this book very useful, but it would be good to have an updated version that included a broader range of models, for instance Latent Profile Analysis, not just LCA. One of the most useful things about this book were the tips on preparing data to be transferred from SPSS so that it could be used in MPlus. This isn't covered very well in the MPlus Manual. In addition, there are numerous tips throughout for the novice user of MPLus. Well worth the money.

Great book for SEM

I'm using this in addition to the Structural Equation Modeling book by Kenneth Bollen. It's a very helpful complement, and would probably be useful on its own if you had a strong base understanding of the statistical techniques already and just needed to get more information on modeling in Mplus.

Detail-obsesive, practical and pedagogic

This book was the perfect complement to my Advanced Statistic seminair in the PhD. In the live discussions we had the chance to analyze the benefits and applications of different data analysis techniques, while professor Geiser explains with perfect germanic order the HOW TO to prepare the data, program in MPlus, parametrize the analysis and interpret the results.
A note of caution: You will need the software, your hypothesis and databases to actually make good use of the book.

A Gift for Rainey's Fans Everywhere

If you've read "Rainey Days" or "Rainey Nights" you need to treat yourself to the joy that is "Rainey's Christmas Miracle". It takes Rainey's and Katie's story to a new level that fans of these characters won't want to miss. I read this wonderful short story on the author's blog at Christmas and as soon as I saw that she had published this lovely short story I bought it to add to my growing collection of her work. Think of it as a gift to yourself. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Love Miracles!

I love Ms. Bradshaw's work. I read this story when she put it out on the web and immediately asked her if she was going to put it out as a book. As you can see she did. She stated so that when her novel "Molly" came out everyone would have an update in the life of Rainey and Katie, and what an update. Thank you Ms. Bradshaw and please keep them coming.

About the Author
Thomas R. Weirich, Ph.D., CPA, is currently the Jerry & Felicia Campbell Endowed Professor at Central Michigan University and was also a former chair of its School of Accounting. He earned a Doctorate in Accountancy from the University of Missouri-Columbia, as well as an M.B.A. and B.S. degrees from Northern Illinois University. He has served on special assignment as the Academic Accounting Fellow to the Office of Chief Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. He has completed a Faculty in Residence position with Arthur Andersen, LLP in their Business Fraud & Investigative Services Division whereby he participated in various fraud and background investigations. He also served as a consultant to the Public Oversight Board’s Panel on Audit Effectiveness, and as an expert witness for the SEC and other organizations. Dr. Weirich was recently appointed by the Governor of the State of Michigan to serve on the Michigan State Board of Accountancy. Dr. Weirich has public accounting experience with an international firm as well as with a local firm.
Professor Weirich has written numerous articles in professional journals and assisted others, such as by serving on the Editorial Advisory Board to the Journal of Accountancy. He has extensive national, state, and local committee experience including a member of the American Accounting Association’s Education Committee and the SEC Liaison Committee. He has completed assignments on the AICPA’s SEC Regulation’s Committee and on the AICPA’s Technical Standards Subcommittee-Ethics, the Board of Examiners’ Auditing Subcommittee and Content Committee that aid in the development of the CPA Examination. He also served on the AICPA’s Pre-Certification Executive Education Committee, the Michigan’s Association of CPAs’ CPE Committee, Fraud Task Force, and the Environmental Issues Committee. He is currently serving on the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy—CPA Licensing Examinations Committee. Dr. Weirich has also served eleven years on the Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, City Commission and as mayor of the city. Professor Weirich has been the recipient of the School of Accounting/Beta Alpha Psi’s Outstanding Teacher Award, Ameritech/SBC Teaching Award, the College of Business Dean’s Teaching Award, the Michigan Association of Governing Boards’ Distinguished Faculty Award and the Michigan Association of CPAs’ Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award.

Thomas C. Pearson, LL.M., J.D., CPA�is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and former Director of its School of Accountancy. He has earned two Masters of Letters of Law in taxation, the first from the University of Denver and the second from New York University. He has a Doctorate of Jurisprudence and M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and an A.B. from Dartmouth College. Professor Pearson has previously taught at the University of Wyoming and National Taiwan University. Professor Pearson has previously worked at Hospital Corporation of America.

Professor Pearson has published numerous articles, mostly in professional publications such as Taxes and the Tax Advisor. He has also published in leading academic publications such as Accounting Horizons, Journal of Accounting Education, and Journal of the American Taxation Association. as well as in prestigious law reviews such as the Stanford Journal of Law, Business and Finance. Professor Pearson has received numerous teaching awards including the University of Hawaii’s Board of Regents Teaching Excellence Award and the Outstanding Achievement in Education Award by the Hawaii Society of CPAs. He has served as President of the Shidler College of Business Faculty Senate and on numerous university committees. He has also served on Hawaii’s Tax Review Commission and is involved in several professional organizations.

Natalie Tatiana Churyk, Ph.D., CPA, is the Caterpillar Professor of Accountancy at Northern Illinois University. She earned her Doctorate in Accounting with a Finance Cognate from the University of South Carolina. She received her B. S. in Accounting and her M.B.A. with a specialization in Finance from California State University, Long Beach. Dr. Churyk has public accounting experience with a local California firm. She teaches in the undergraduate and M.A.S. programs. In addition to teaching accountancy for NIU, Professor Churyk develops and delivers continuing professional education in Northern Illinois University’s CPA and CIA Review programs. Active with student groups, she is the faculty advisor for the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, the National Association of Black Accountants, and the campus mentor for KPMG’s Future Diversity Leader Program. Professor Churyk has published in professional journals such as the Journal of Accountancy, Strategic Finance, and The CPA Journal. She has various academic publications in journals such as Journal of Business Research and Advances in Accounting Behavioral Research. Professor Churyk has received several teaching awards, including the University-wide Educational Foundation Outstanding Teaching Award for Graduate Assistants. She serves on several state and national committees relating to education, student, and women initiatives, including the American Accounting Association’s Teaching Learning and Curriculum Section and Midwest Steering Committee. She has received research grants from PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Institute of Management Accountants, and her university.

Overpriced

Way too expensive.

This book is $60 (plus shipping) new and $42.00 second hand.

The whole book is about 202 pages long and is paperback.

You can also tell that there is not that much to it, because the resale price is about 1/3 the original price and you only get $9 for a gift card.

Heads of Department, the only way I would recommend this book was if you could find enough copies that everyone could buy one used.

Avoid this woman and her books!

I was foolish enough to pay way too much money (prepaid by credit card, what an idiot) for a 'consultation' with Ms Riquette Hofstein in Beverly Hills. I was desperate, seeing my hair fall out in clumps from one day to the next for apparently no reason, and a friend of mine had read her book and thought she sounded interesting. Make no bones about it, this woman is a charlatan. She handed me a long list of supplements I needed to buy from her as soon as i walked in, before even looking at me. She then read in my 'aura' that i had had hair extensions in the past. (i have big gaps in my hair where they pulled it out, difficult not to notice!) She told me all about how famous she was, about her television appearances (in the 1980s), her ' 9,000 celebrity clients', and how she heals people's karmas with hypnotherapy and iridology (just two in a long list) in order to cure their hair loss issues. (I, apparently, was depressed and overworked) Eventually she took a hair from my head and looked at it under a dusty microscope on top of a dresser. She pronounced it dead, overloaded with natural oil and grease. (It looked fine. Anyway, isn't all hair dead?) She said the only way to bring it back to life I would have to do a series of 12 weekly 'super serum treatments' that she would personally mix up for me at a cost of $900 per treatment. When I told her there was no way in hell I could afford even one treatment at $900 she informed me she could make a 'weak' version for me for $100, but it wouldn't be as effective and I would have to do more than 12 of them to see any improvement at all in my hair.

I was somewhat surprised. From what I'd read, Ms Hofstein's book was all about natural remedies using fruit and essential oils and things you might use in cooking (her wall is full of pics of models applying half tomatoes to their forheads and cucumbers on their eyes.) So I asked her if I couldnt use something containing alcohol instead. She shook her head in shock and said that alcohol would 'completely dry the root out and kill the hair. You would lose ALL your hair.'

Now isn't her book all about how you can stimulate your hair root using vodka and cayenne pepper? I don't know why I didn't mention this, but I didn't have the courage in the moment. Plus I was creeped out and just wanted to leave. When I tried to go she stopped me, saying ' Don't leave! You will never get your hair back. Believe me this is the only way! Everyone who comes to me gets their hair back!' (debatable, she showed me many before and after pics. While some showed a healthier head of hair and slightly more downy bald patches, the ones with really bad hair loss looked just about the same after "2 years intensive treatment" (at $900 a week?)

So I left, poorer and angrier, without even taking her 'incredible Riquette' shampoo. 'It wont work without my serum' she had said earlier. 'Nothing works without my serum.' Good to know.

So I wanted to post this to say that although I haven't personally tried any of the hair recipes in her book, SHE personally doesn't endorse them, as she only endorses her gold dust priced serum. She is a charlatan, a vacuous, rambling self publicist and con artist who makes a quick buck telling follically challenged people like me she can bring their precious hair back. She can't.

Not only for Hairloss

Honestly, I don't think I really would have needed this book. When I first picked it up, I had beautiful waist-length black hair. I, striving for perfection, read it through and eventually bought it. I was completely hooked by the time I read about shampoo companies and the dangerous chemicals leading to hairloss. After easing into it slowly by making the essential shampoo and using the apple vinegar based rinse, I realized that my scalp stopped being so itchy and my hair stopped being so greasy. Flakes disappeared, and after I started using the cayenne based solution every week, my acne even started to clear up. This book has served me well. I don't think I shall ever go to store-bought shampoo ever again. This book should appeal to more than the balding demographic that it already does - everyone should take advantage of this.

This book focuses on removing residues that may be impacting your hair's growth. Much of it focuses on VERY involved processes and ingredients for creating home-made hair care products. Expect to spend many hours a week preparing the concoctions. It may help for general hair loss.

I am a 31-yr-old female experiencing androgenic alopecia and was disappointed to find no reference to treating the hormonal causes of this problem.
